All-Natural DIY Turmeric and Manuka Honey Face Mask

This Manuka Honey face mask is quick and easy with some amazing results. It’s as simple as mixing three ingredients together.

With everything going on in the world right now self-care is extremely important. We thought it was a great opportunity to give you another one of our Homemade skincare recipes for clear, glowing skin. With only three ingredients this DIY face mask can be made with little mess, in a short time, and it will have an amazing impact on your skin.

The Manuka Bush which is native to New Zealand, has a unique set of medicinal characteristics while honey has been used topically for centuries for its skin health properties.¹  Manuka Honey is a natural humectant, it draws in a retains moisture which makes it deeply nourishing to your skin and can leave you with a natural, dewy glow.

Manuka Honey also has a low pH of between 3.2 and 4.5, which is beneficial to heal and help balance the skin². It can help remove dead skin cells, while it's reported anti-inflammatory properties can reduce inflammation and redness.³

Although turmeric is usually ingested, either from food or in supplement form it can be extremely beneficial when applied directly to your skin thanks to its anti-inflammatory abilities. The active ingredient in turmeric, called Curcumin, is incredible at purifying and cleansing the skin, resulting in a healthy, bright glow.

If this mask wasn’t amazing enough with just the Manuka Honey and turmeric you can take it to another level by adding some natural probiotics in the form of plain yoghurt or kefir. If you have any form of intolerance to dairy I recommend using coconut yoghurt or kefir.

With their natural properties and having a large source of protein, calcium and vitamin D, these help fight acne, nourish your skin, leaving it soft and hydrated. Along with the benefits of the natural acids diminishing the appearances of line and wrinkles.

Some of the benefits that may be seen from this face-mask:

Here are some top tips to make your experience with this Manuka Honey face mask enjoyable:

Application

Simply use your fingers, face mask brush or clean paintbrush and apply directly onto clean skin, covering all of your face while avoiding the eyes, lips and nostrils. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes (enjoy a cup of Manuka Honey tea?).

Removal

To remove your face mask simply lean over the sink, splash your face with water and gently massage the mask off your face until there’s no more left on the skin.

Storage

We recommend only making enough for one face mask. As this is made from natural ingredients it is recommended to be used immediately. Otherwise, the mask will harden in the refrigerator.

Usage

The skin on our faces is extremely delicate, so we recommend using a mask no more than 2-3 times a week at a maximum to avoid making it too sensitive.

To Note

We recommend only leaving this face mask on for 10-15 minutes to avoid staining your skin temporarily due to the Turmeric. If this occurs use a mild cleanser or Makeup remover.

We recommend doing a spot test before you use this Manuka Honey face mask to ensure your skin doesn’t react.
