Manuka honey-infused berry parfaits

This parfait recipe combines the natural sweetness of berries with the rich taste of manuka honey.

  • Mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, for example)

  • Greek yoghurt

  • Granola or nuts

  • Manuka honey

  1. Place a layer of berries at the bottom of the glass.

  2. Add a layer of Greek yoghurt.

  3. Drizzle manuka honey over the yoghurt.

  4. Add a layer of granola or nuts.

  5. Repeat this combination of layers until the glass is full.

  6. Top with a final drizzle of honey and a few berries.

So simple, yet so yummy!

You can adjust the quantities of each ingredient to suit your personal preferences (and the size of your glasses) - or try different types of berries and nuts for a different flavour combination.

Grilled fruit skewers with manuka glaze

Take your fruit game to the next level with these grilled fruit skewers. The manuka honey glaze enhances the fruit's natural sweetness, making it a delightful treat the whole family can enjoy.

  • Pineapple chunks

  • Peach slices

  • Watermelon cubes

  • Manuka honey

  • Lemon juice

  1. Cut your pieces of fruit into approximately 1 inch chunks.

  2. Thread the fruit onto skewers, alternating between pineapple, peach, and watermelon.

  3. In a small bowl, mix manuka honey with a splash of lemon juice. If your honey is too thick, you may need to warm it gently in a water bath to make it runny first (or try our squeezy honey).

  4. Brush the glaze onto the fruit skewers.

  5. Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side until caramelised.

  6. Serve hot with an extra drizzle of honey if desired.

This dessert is great as a light and refreshing end to your meal.

If you have different seasonal produce available in your local area, try other fruit combinations such as apples, pears, and apricots.

Grilled manuka honey ribs

To create these delicious manuka honey barbecue ribs, start with a rack of your favourite pork ribs.

  • 1 rack of pork ribs

  • 1/2 cup of manuka honey

  • 1/4 cup of dark soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp of smoked paprika

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

  1. In a bowl, mix the manuka honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic, salt, and pepper.

  2. Generously apply the marinade to your ribs, cover the container and leave them to marinate for at least 30 minutes (ideally overnight or for a few hours).

  3. After marinating, place the ribs on a baking tray lined with aluminium foil. Set aside the excess marinade in a bowl.

  4. Brush the ribs generously with the marinade.

  5. Cover the tray with another sheet of aluminium foil.

  6. Bake in the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius) for 2.5 hours, basting with the remaining marinade every 30 minutes.

  7. Remove the top layer of foil and grill for an additional 10-15 minutes until caramelised.

  8. Serve with sesame seeds garnished on top.

  9. Enjoy!

You can also switch up this basic recipe by using different types of ribs (such as beef) and adding other ingredients to the marinade. Try experimenting with BBQ sauce, ground chilli, and hoisin sauce.

Manuka honey lemonade

Manuka honey lemonade is a delightful twist on a classic drop. The honey gives natural sweetness while providing a rich, unique flavour. Plus, it's packed with beneficial health properties.

  • Ice cubes

Manuka honey iced tea

Manuka honey iced tea is another fantastic option to cool down in style. The honey adds a delicate sweetness, balancing the slightly bitter notes of the tea. It’s easy to make and perfect for any gathering.

  • 4 tea bags (black or green tea)

  1. Steep the tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes.

Where To Buy Manuka Honey You Can Trust

Did you know that manuka honey is one of the most commonly faked foods in the world?

Because it’s in such high demand and limited availability (only a small amount is produced each season), many of the products you see on store shelves are diluted, blended or adulterated.

That’s why we at New Zealand Honey Co. are so strict about where we source our honey from. As the name suggests, the beekeepers we work with are located in the remote and pristine areas of New Zealand.

We source only the highest-quality, raw, pure, kosher, halal, glyphosate-free, non-GMO, independently tested, UMF™ certified manuka honey.

(Try saying that 3 times backwards…)

 We only deal in real.
